How to play Battlefield 2 online
Updated to v1.50
1- Grab the Reloaded release or the Complete Collection DVD iso if you don't already have it. [You could also get the DVD version, but most private servers only run vanilla BF2 - so no need to install expansion packs.]
2- Grab the keygen and extras from HERE
Grab the full v1.50 patch from Gamer's Hell HERE or EA Games HERE
3- Install game using keygen[vanilla BF2 = no expansions or booster packs] ,
Install the full v1.41 patch [this may take some time to complete]
Then install the 1.50 patch [this must be installed over 1.41]
Update your Punkbuster with this pbsetup.exe [from evenbalance]
No Cracks, mini-images, no-cd fixes needed!! As the cd check has been removed in 1.50.
4- Do NOT use any cracked EXE's! Punkbuster will kick you from a server for using a modified exe.
5- Start the game, and create an account/soldier name. Exit the game.
6- Copy/paste the EPC private server list into Qtracker
While waiting for list to refresh in QT, configure Qtracker to handle BF2 auto-login with the account name you just created. [Go to view -> settings -> Games -> auto-login -> BF2]
Set 'Enalbe Auto-Login' to 'True'. And fill in account name and password. Click Apply, OK.
Alternatively, you can use the following command line parameters to auto-login in Qtracker:
+playerName xxxx +playerPassword xxxx
Right click server -> 'connect' -> 'now' to join game.
